Lady Gaga is getting closer to joining Bradley Cooper and Warner Bros for a remake of A Star Is Born. The pop artist and Cooper have now done screen tests and the studio is loving the results.

Bradley Cooper and Todd Phillips will be producing the film under their Joint Effort title alongside Bill Gerber, who has been attached to the remake for a long time. The remake of the original film starring Barbra Streisand will be Cooper's directorial debut according to Deadline.

When Cooper first got attached to the project, the production turned to Beyonce for their leading lady. After things with Beyonce did not work out, Lady Gaga was the first actress the producers approached.

Talks of Cooper and Lady Gaga working together first broke when they were seen riding on a motorcycle together on May 2.

Lady Gaga is a Golden Globe winning actress, winning the award for her role in Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story series. She is also a six-time Grammy Award winner, and would be able to bring her musical talents to the production making for an interesting soundtrack.

Negotiations are expected to happen soon to attach Lady Gaga to the movie as everyone involved seems thrilled with the results of the recent screen tests with the pop superstar.

Deadline reports that the movie will likely cost around $30 million to make.
