Game Of Thrones Averaging Record High 23.3 Million Viewers Per Episode

Fans are traveling to Westeros in record numbers.

HBO's Game of Thrones, the longest running series on the network, is hauling in record audiences week after week. Through June 17, Thrones has averaged 23.3 million viewers across all platforms, a 15% increase from last year's season five.

Broken down, the Sunday premiere episode ratings are up 6% to 7.3 million, despite television overall seeing a 4% drop. HBO Now and HBO Go, the network's digital streaming services jumped 70% last years to about 2.5 million streams. HBO says the HBO Now platform is providing Game of Thrones an addition 2.5 million average weekly viewers, mostly coming from the series' young male fanbase, but not counting multiple viewers on a single device.

Game of Thrones is rolling into its season six finale this weekend following one of the most acclaimed episodes of the entire series. Jon Snow and Ramsey Bolton finally went to battle as Daenerys claimed her independence from the Masters in Mereen and rode her dragons into battle, fighting their efforts to overthrow her.

The finale will bring Walder Frey back into the mix according to the preview for Sunday's episode, as well as follow up on the aftermath of the Starks reclaiming Winterfell. Cersei will face trail with the Fatih and Sir Davos will confront Melisandre and Jon Snow about her choice to burn Stannis' daughter when Stannis was projected to be the one true King.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on HBO.
