To say Harley Quinn is important to fans would be an understatement, but actress Margot Robbie seems to have acclimated to the fan-favorite role just fine.

The actress discussed many things about her career and life outlook in general during a recent interview with Vanity Fair, and amongst questions about her roles in The Wolf of Wall Street and the recently released The Legend of Tarzan, the much-anticipated Suicide Squad was bound to come up.

"She loves causing mayhem and destruction," Robbie told me. "She's incredibly devoted to the Joker. They have a dysfunctional relationship, but she loves him anyway. She used to be a gymnast—that's her skill set when fighting."

The gymnast origins are immediately apparent in the trailer, as she can be seen hanging from the cell's ceiling in multiple shots, with a definite gymnast quality to her movements. As for Joker, their relationship seems right in line with the comics. Dysfunctional but lasting, something that fans are really interested in seeing play at on screen between Robbie and Joker actor Jared Leto.

The studio has so much faith in Robbie's take on the character that they've already announced a future solo project for Harley, aided no doubt by the positive reaction from fans.

In addition to Suicide Squad and Tarzan, the talented actress is also starring in the Vaughn Stein directed Terminal. As for Suicide Squad, the film hits theatres on August 5th.
