Although Paul Feig's female-driven Ghostbusters currently has a 78% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a common complaint from critics has been that the reboot relies too heavily on the 1984 original, so it isn't surprising that even the after-credits scene --possibly setting up a sequel -- includes a reference to Zuul, the Gatekeeper of Gozer.

"Ghostbusters' post-credits scene features the victorious team of unlikely heroes hard at work in a newly-built lab. Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones) is seen listening to a tape player referenced earlier in the film as having been involved with an oft-reported paranormal occurrence known as electronic voice phenomena (commonly abbreviated as E.V.P.)," Screen Rant reports. "Excitedly, Patty turns to her colleagues and tells them she heard something. When they turn her way in response, she says she heard the word Zuul. Not knowing what that means, the other Ghostbusters shrug and are nonplussed about the whole thing."

For those of you that haven't seen the original film, Zuul is a demigod and minion of Gozer the Destructor. It appears as a dog-like creature with red eyes. In the third act, it possessed Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) and was solely focused on locating the Keymaster, who had possessed Louis Tully (Rick Moranis).

Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. This summer, they're here to save the world!

The film is directed by Paul Feig (The Heat, Bridesmaids), written by Feig and Katie Dippold, and produced by Ivan Reitman and Amy Pascal. Feig, Jessie Henderson, Tom Pollock, Joe Medjuck, Ali Bell, Michele Imperato Stabile, and Dan Aykroyd are its executive producers. The cast features Melissa McCarthy (Tammy), Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Michael Kenneth Williams (Boardwalk Empire), Neil Casey (Adult Beginners), Elizabeth Perkins (Big), and Chris Hemsworth (Thor). The film will feature cameos from Bill Murray (Groundhog Day), Dan Aykroyd (Spies Like Us), Sigourney Weaver (Alien), Ernie Hudson (The Crow), Annie Potts (Designing Women), and Ozzy Osbourne.

Ghostbusters is due in theaters July 15, 2016.
