Yesterday, ComicBook.com reported that Pokemon Go was finally coming to Japan two weeks after the game's US release. However, TechCrunch.com is now reporting that Niantic Labs has delayed the launch due to an email leak detailing plans for the game.

The leaked emails came from McDonald's Japan, the game's Japanese sponsor, and were posted on several message boards yesterday. Japan's 3,000+ McDonald's locations will be turned into Pokemon Gyms as part of the company's sponsorship of Pokemon Go.

Niantic decided to push back the Pokemon Go's release after the emails went viral in Japan, as the company was concerned that the hype would overload the game's servers. Niantic previously pushed back Pokemon Go's release in several countries including Japan in order to add more server capacity to prevent the game from frequently crashing. Pokemon Go has been plagued with almost daily crashes due to overwhelming traffic since its US release two weeks ago.

Despite the delay, Pokemon Go's Japanese release is "imminent" and could come as early as tomorrow.
