On Friday, during San Diego Comic Con, Adult Swim unveiled a Season 3 sneak peek from their original hit animated comedy series, Rick and Morty.

Though it's only an animatic (also known as animated storyboards), it's still our first look at Season 3. In it, we see that Rick has transferred his mind into the body of an insect, which I believe is a cockroach, and is in what appears to be an air vent. He uses the sharp claws at the end of one of his legs to saw off a portion of a grille. An angry rat, which is hungry for Rick and is on the other side of the grille, sticks its head through the opening. The ever-so-clever Rick was counting on that and triggers his trap, which decapitates the rat. More rats soon appear and Rick taunts them.

While the rats gnaw at the grille, Rick strips himself of the insect appendages and has the arms, legs and brain of the recently murdered rat attached to his now Twinkie-shaped body. Just as the rats come pouring through the opening they just made, Rick uses his new and improved body to slaughter them.

Rick and Morty is Adult Swim's most scientifically accurate animated comedy. Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, it catalogues the bizarre misadventures of a bored scientific genius/drunkard and his socially awkward grandson, Morty. Their exploits tend to have unintended consequences for Morty's dysfunctional family, especially his unfailingly mediocre father, Jerry. Watch Rick and Morty battle everything from interdimensional customs agents to Cronenberg monsters.

The voice-cast features Justin Roiland as both Rick Sanchez (Justin Roiland) and his grandson, Morty; Sarah Chalke as Rick's daughter, Beth; Chris Parnell as Rick's son-in-law and Beth's husband, Jerry; and Spencer Grammer as Rick's granddaughter and Beth and Jerry's daugther, Summer.
