At San Diego Comic-Con, we talked with Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel TV, about their latest, Luke Cage, and the next chapter, Defenders. With a logo and teaser revealed, fans are definitely getting excited about the next step. The new show will bring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist together to take down some larger threat that they can't tackle alone.

While that sounds a lot like the Avengers to the average fan, the extremely disparate personalities and styles of teach individual Defender should make for a firy time in the series. That's what Loeb is most excited about in the series.

"Iron Fist is filming now, and it's going spectacularly. It's a very different story from this kind of story. Danny Rand lives in a different world than Luke Cage lives in," Loeb said. "Am I looking forward to the day when they all get together? Yes! But the part that's exciting to me isn't that they may be able to be fighting some great big bad, it's that we've been able to take the time so that you can get to know Matt Murdock, get to know Jessica Jones, get to know Luke Cage, get to know Danny Rand, and each of them have their own 13 hour story, in some cases more than that, and really get invested in who those heroes are."

With that sort of past, now they can move to the future - and Loeb thinks that will be quite a clash.

"My question is, okay, what happens when they then meet? They're very different people. They have very different ways of pursuing their lives. They have a very different way of what they believe in. That's what's interesting to me. Hopefully those are the kinds of things we'll be able to explore once we get into the Defenders world."

Luke Cage hits Netflix on September 30, 2016. Defenders hits in 2017, after Iron Fist.
