Last night, Marvel dropped enough updates about their Netflix series' to overwhelm fans all over the world. Jeph Loeb, EVP of Marvel Television, hosted the San Diego Comic Con panel to a packed house and revealed new information on Luke Cage, The Defenders, Daredevil, and Iron Fist. Starting the panel with a sizzle reel, Fans were already hyped for the event, but the whole crowd lost it when Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/The Punisher) made a surprise appearance on stage. And the guys over at Flicks and the City caught the actor's entrance all on camera.

Sporting a beard and sleek suit, Jon walks onto the SDCC stage to roaring applause. The actor clearly channels The Punisher for a moment when he approaches Loeb, demanding he replay the clip that aired prior to Jon's arrival. Overlooking Loeb's hesitance, Jon pushes for the clip to be run once more to fans' delight.

Following the clip, Jon does a 180 when the actor addresses the crowd, saying, "What's up, San Diego?" The actor's voice is clearly lighter as The Punisher decidely slinks away and Jon takes front stage. Loeb then held an impromptu interview with Jon by asking a few questions.

"Tell me, and tell them, what was it like when you found out you were going to play Frank Castle on Daredevil," Loeb asked. Addressing the audience, Jon replied by telling everyone that he knows how much the character means to fans and that he takes that with him everywhere. "I know how much this character matters," he explained. "I know how much he means to members of the military, of law enforcement. I take it as an enormous responsibility and an enormous honor."

Loeb also asked how Jon felt about receiving the call informing him that The Punisher had been greenlighted for its own Netflix series. Nodding, Jon said that he felt like, "it was time to get going - time to get it right...I'm grateful, and I'm ready."

Of course, Jon also took a moment before leaving the stage to thank the legion of Marvel fans who've supported his work as thus far. And, just before signing off, the actor plugged Luke Cage and told the audience, "Hey y'all! Luke Cage looks very, very good...I'm very, very excited. I hope you're as excited as I am."
