When it comes to video game delays, time only brings further frustration. Case in point: Fallout 4's M.I.A mods for the PS4. The console's beta was meant to roll out at the end of June, but some serious complications arose for the Playstation platform. Since its delay, very few updates have been given on the troubled mod support, but now, Bethesda has given fans a little piece of news.

Unfortunately, it's not what gamers have been wanting to hear.

In a post to the official Fallout Twitter, a tweet told fans the following update: "We're working w/ Sony on Fallout 4 Mod support for PS4. The process is still under evaluation. As soon as we learn more, we will share news."

Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP of Marketing, has also recently commented about the update - well, kind of. In a series of tweets, Hines said the studio is still trying to get an update on the mods but haven't yet received one. When a fan pointed out that keeping players out of the loop might KO Bethesda's credibility, Hines agreed.

"I don't disagree. we have explained that to "others" so we can get/share an update. so far it hasn't worked," he wrote before later posting. "I'm not going to get into specifics. if i was able to have an open dialog and explain what's up i would have long ago."

So, yeah, it doesn't look like things are going so great with the PS4 mods. Many fans have been speculating that Fallout's reliance on Microsoft's OS has been causing prolific issues, and Bethesda themselves have acknowledged their cross-platform problems. Issues such as small mod file sizes, memory usage, and unusable sound files have been hindering their progress since day one.

Of course, PC players got their official mod support back in April and the Xbox One was gifted the same privilege in May. Now, only time will tell when the PS4 gets its much-desired mods.

Luckily, fans won't have to wait in one of Vault-Tec's underhanded hideouts until the PS4 mods come. Honestly, that would be all sorts of bad news for fans, wouldn't it?
