Traditionally, most films given fans a behind-the-scenes peek into the project through teaser photos and trailers. But, when it came to Star Trek Beyond, the crew decided to tackle promotions in a whole new way. For many Trekkies, their first look at the film came via Dubsmash. And, now, one kind fan has collected the cast's clips into one out-of-this-world compilation.

The video starts off with a shot of John Cho and Karl Urban promoting the film in an interview. When they're asked about the entire cast's Dubsmash addiction, Urban can be heard saying, "We are in a Dubsmash hole. I mean, we need some help - we really do." And what follows is where the fun begins.

With over 30 videos, the compilation features all of the cast's various Dubsmash entries. The first video finds John Cho and Chris Pine in an on-set trailer lip synching to The Pointer Sister's "I'm So Excited," and really, the pair's enthusiasm is hard to miss. Honestly, their own excitement is more apparent than the Star Trek universe's first contact with extraterrestrial life.

However, after a few clips pass, fans are given a somber reminder about one of Star Trek Beyond's greatest losses. Several of the Dubsmash videos feature Anton Yelchin singing along with classic tracks, and the sight has hit some fans hard considering the actor's recent passing. Yelchin, who died in a vehicular incident this June, was noticeably and painfully absent ahead of Star Trek Beyond's release. The film pays tribute to both Yelchin and Leonard Nimoy as the two actors were much loved within Star Trek's fandom. So, of course, seeing Yelchin hilariously singing along to Backstreet Boys "Everybody" might surprise some. But most fans have agreed the compilation appropriately honors the actor's fun-loving, curious personality.

As for the rest of the cast, everyone from Zoe Saldana to Simon Pegg and Zachary Quinto makes an appearance. In many cases, the actors are filming their videos on set and use the USS Enterprise as a backdrop for their ABBA-focused performances. Who knew Urban was such a fan of the Swedish pop icons? Most of the cast are also seen in the Dubsmash videos while dressed in their Starfleet uniforms, no doubt bringing a new type of honor to their hard-earned Delta Shields.

And, if you're curious, it appears that Karl Urban and John Cho stand as the cast's biggest Dubsmash offenders. The pair have uploaded more than twenty videos combined while other actors like Zachary Quinto have only shared a handful. However, Chris Pine is also partially responsible for the app's popularity. The leading actor stars in most of the compilation's clips.

So, even if the app might not be regulation, it's nice to see the cast of Star Trek Beyond letting loose and getting musical during their long shoots. Still, it seems many fans are surprised the gang overlooked several songs that would've suited Star Trek perfectly. Seriously, where was the cast's rendition of Elton John's intergalactic ballad, "Rocketman?"
