With the recent WWE brand extension bringing both the Women's Championship and Tag Team Championship to Monday Night Raw, SmackDown! hasn't an equivalent to those titles, much like how Raw had to create the Universal Championship as the top-tier title.

That could all change later tonight.

On his Twitter, SmackDown! Live GM Daniel Bryan tweeted out that he will debut two new championships tonight.

It's heavily speculated that Bryan and his partner in SmackDown! Shane McMahon will bring a women's and tag team title to their brand. This is similar to when Stephanie McMahon debuted the WWE Tag Team Championship that was exclusive to SmackDown! back in 2002 and the creation of the Diva's Championship in 2008, which was presented by SmackDown! GM Vickie Guerrero.

Both the Tag Team and Diva's Champions were unified in 2009 and 2010 respectively, so it's uncertain who long the before yet another unification match could occur. Of course, it's merely speculation, but it's hard to believe that they could resurrect a third-tier title like the European Championship.

It's also unclear if the champions will be selected by hand or if a tournament will take place to determine the first bearers of these new titles.
