Maggie and Glenn need a lot more than hope in their current predicament. That said, the post-apocalyptic power couple has overcome unlikely odds in the past so getting through Negan's introduction is still a possibility.

One of their difficulties on the long road to Season 7 was Glenn's dumpster dive back in the first half of Season 6. While most of Alexandria ruled Glenn dead, Maggie held out hope for her husband's survival. She wasn't the only one.

In a newly released deleted scene from The Walking Dead's sixth season, Deanna Monroe joins Maggie on her lookout post and offers up inspirational words of hope and wisdom. "I think he's still out there," Deanna tells Maggie. "Having the idea to make this place a cradle of civilization, not ashamed, but I just had no idea what the hell I was doing."

The words of hope and leadership will likely be reflected in Maggie's future, as she emerges as a leader among the communities. Comic book fans know that Maggie goes on to take control of the Hilltop as the community sees her bravery and experience being more valuable than Gregory's political cowardice.
