In the past, Bryan Cranston has been vocal about his desire to play a super-villain. The actor once teased he'd be interested in playing an original baddie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it looks like his tone has changed as of late. Now, it seems Bryan is all for taking on Mister Sinister.

In a recent interview, Bryan talked about which villains he'd like to play. "Mr. Sinister has always been someone," he teased. "It would be very cool."

However, the actor stressed he is still interested in taking on an original role.

"I'm interested in creating a role. I'd love to do something that hasn't been done before," Bryan said. "Lex Luthor, there's been a lot of that. I've been asked to take a look at Commissioner Gordon, and it's like I would be one in several. I would kind of like to carve out a new identity."

The actor's words mirror those he told The Metro last year. When asked about what roles he'd like to audition for, Bryan said, "You know what I'd like to do? I'd like to do some big superhero villain in some Marvel classic. Create one from scratch…I don't know what I would do but it would be nasty."

He went on to clarify his villainous leanings later in the year New York Comic-Con. A fan asked the actor if he had a baddie in mind, and Bryan revealed that "it would be Mr. Sinister."

If Bryan wants in on that role, then the actor should come to terms with his absence in the MCU. The rights to Mister Sinister rest in the hands of Fox.

And, if he does need the role, then he should send an invoice over the studio real quick. After all, rumors have been swirling over the past week that Mister Sinister will appear in Wolverine 3. Headlines began popping up after producers Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg shared some secrets in an audio commentary included with X-Men: Apocalypse. The duo hinted that the film's post-credit scene was meant to prepare fans for an appearance by Mister Sinister in the third and final Wolverine flick.

However, the director of Wolverine 3 has responded to those rumors and said he doesn't even know how the famous villain is.

So, what do you guys think? Would Bryan Cranston do justice to the fan-favorite mad scientist or should Fox pursue someone else to take on Mister Sinister? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Wolverine 3 stars Hugh Jackman (X-Men: Days of Future Past) as Logan/Wolverine and Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation) as Charles Xavier/Professor X.
