Tonight, Agents of SHIELD will return for Season 4 with a brand-new character who has fans hyped. Gabriel Luna will bring Ghost Rider to the small screen, and so far, the show's teasers have depicted the iconic character to be a rather antagonistic one. But, according to two executive producers overseeing the series, Ghost Rider might not be the biggest threat of the season.

Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen took time to speak with ComicBook.com's Ashley Robinson at the Season 4 premiere of Agents of SHIELD. The pair talked about the entrance of Ghost Rider and hinted fans should expect a bigger baddie to take on Team Coulson.

When asked if there was a chance that Ghost Rider was standing in for larger, scarier threat down the line, Jed carefully weighed his words. However, the executive producer did admit "there is that possibility, for sure."

As for what that threat may be, fans can only guess. Agents of SHIELD has spent most of its marketing efforts on Ghost Rider, prompting fans to wonder what kind of villain could shake the Spirit of Vengeance.

There's always the possibility the threat may come from high up. With SHIELD legitimized again, the Director may have a few concerns about Ghost Rider and his violent powers. After all, the hero is possessed by the spirit of a serial killer who strikes a deal with Robbie after the teenager is involved in a fatal accident.

If you were to ask Gabriel Luna who he wants the threat to be, then he would say The Hulk. The actor told Ashley Robinson that he'd love to fight big green monster. Talking about the less-than-jolly giant, Gabriel said, "You what? I want The Hulk. I'm calling you out right now. I'm calling you out Bruce Banner."

But could the supernatural scene-stealer actually take on The Hulk? Surely, if he can take on the gamma-ray guy, then Ghost Rider could take on the mysterious threat that is coming to Agents of SHIELD.

Gabriel Luna seems to think his character is more than capable of dishing out some serious pain. "He's very powerful," he said. "That's a huge wild card to throw into the mix. We're starting to toe the line and inch towards some ground that hasn't been covered."

In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, SHIELD has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack, and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. Agent May is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz and Simmons have taken a big step forward in their relationship.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD returns to ABC on September 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
