Live Blog: Big Bang Theory Season 10 Premiere

The episode opens with Sheldon waking up Leonard and Penny in bed by shouting at him through the wall. Sheldon is concerned about the blooming relationship between his mother Mary and Leonard's dad Alfred, and is concerned that he and Leonard could wind up as brothers. Of course, Sheldon's main concern is that living with his brother and his brother's wife would be weird. After Sheldon goes back to bed, Penny admits that he thought having her brother at the wedding would be weird, but this might be weirder.

The next morning, Penny tries to warn Leonard and Sheldon to play dumb in front of Leonard's mother Beverly, but she inadvertently gives her spiel right in front of Leonard's mother. Beverly says she wants to skip town on the wedding, but Penny convinces her to stay by reminding her that if she leaves, Alfred wins.

Over at the Wolowitz house, Howard laments over the $500 speeding ticket he got (thinking that the US government was chasing him) but then an actual government official arrives at his doorstep to speak to Howard about their gyroscope invention from last season. Raj tries to play dumb and convinces him that Howard's not home...even though Howard yells to ask who is at the door.

Penny picks up her family, including his ex-con brother Howard (guest star Jack McBrayer), but her mother Susan (guest star Katey Segal) is upset that Penny's friends know about her brother's criminal past. Despite Howard's pleasant demeanor, he did jail time for cooking and selling crystal meth.

Howard is freaked out about the US army official, but Bernadette convinces him to give him a call. After pulling a fast one on Raj, Howard agrees to talk to the colonel the next week.

Leonard's father Alfred and Sheldon's mother Mary arrive at the apartment, but Sheldon cuts to the straight to the point and asks if the two have had intercourse. Alfred assures Sheldon that nothing happened, and also comments that no one has ever said the phrase "Your genitals are a pleasure to behold." Sheldon retorts that Leonard's dad has never seen his genitals.

Penny's family arrives back at her place and Susan is still upset that everyone is joking around about their family's problems. Susan is convinced that Leonard's parents will think they're white trash, but Leonard's family is dealing with bigger problems: namely the budding relationship between Al and Mary.

Over at the boys' apartment, Sheldon continues his assault on his mother's love life by pointing out Alfred isn't good enough for Mary, which leads to even more bickering between Leonard, Sheldon, and their parents. As Sheldon tries to figure out who can stand to be around each other on the whiteboard, Amy arrives, which forces her to start everything again.

Leonard and Beverly eventually walk across the hall to meet Penny and his parents, while Sheldon stays at his apartment to discuss Mary and Al's relationship. Sheldon doesn't let up on Alfred, especially when he perceives that Alfred is hitting on Amy for praising her patience.

Later that day, everyone arrives at a local park for the wedding ceremony. Stuart shows up just before the ceremony begins and picks the most awkward spot to sit: right between Leonard's parents. As Amy plays the harp, Penny's father walks Penny down the aisle to start the ceremony. Bernadette officiates, but quickly begins yelling at the attendees to keep their chattering and bickering to a minimum. Penny and Leonard to skip to the vows, which are super sweet. Alfred and Beverly take a break from their frostiness to agree that they raised a fine young man in Leonard, which spurs Sheldon to walk to the front of the ceremony. He proclaims his love for both Leonard and Penny, which causes Bernadette to proclaim the three of them husband, wife, and weird husband who came with the apartment.

After the ceremony, everyone drives their respective families back to the airport. Leonard and his family share a nice moment in the car before Beverly and Al start bickering once again. Amy gets pointers from Sheldon's mother on how to deal with Sheldon's disrespect. Finally, Penny's dad compares Sheldon to a strange turkey their family used to own before Penny's brother freaks out about seeing the cops.
