Born in September 1978, the actor was raised in New Orleans by parents Martha and Willie. Anthony was introduced to acting at a young age and pursued theater during school. He graduated from the Juilliard School's Drama Division alongside talent like Tracie Thoms and Lee Pace.

Anthony landed his first starring role in 2003 with Brother to Brother. However, the actor got his big break when he was cast in Million Dollar Baby in 2004 as the film earned an Academy Award. Several years later, Anthony would revisit the Oscars when he was cast in The Hurt Locker circa 2009.

However, fans will best know Anthony now for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor plays Samuel Wilson/The Falcon and debuted the character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He reprised the role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and Captain America: Civil War.
