Children all over the world watch their heroes save the people of earth and beyond time and time again on the big screen, but thanks to a new initiative, Marvel's heroes are looking to help the very children that admire them so much.

Doctor Strange's Benedict Cumberbatch announced the new initiative earlier today in a video which you can view below.

"I'm very excited to announce today the new charitable initiative that enables us to do even more together. Marvel Studios Hero Acts is a global initiative focused on bringing help and hope to kids around the world when they need it most."

The idea for Hero Acts originated during filming, as production took them to several countries where children face difficult circumstances every day.

"We filmed Doctor Strange in Nepal and several other countries, and everywhere we went in the world I met Marvel fans, but I also saw kids who were facing enormous challenges, challenges that no one should ever have to face. With the help of our fans, Hero Acts can change that."

"To help us launch Hero Acts, post a photo of yourself as your favorite Marvel heroes. Just go to MarvelStudiosHeroActs.com, upload your photo, and share across your social media channels with #heroacts and #marvelstudios. For every post from now until the end of the year, Marvel Studios will donate $5 to the charitity Save The Children, and help them privode much needed learning materials to as many as 123,000 kids in Nepal, Haiti, and the United States."

For more information you can head to their official website, and to find out more about Save The Children you can head here.

Cumberbatch will make his long awaited debut in the Marvel cinematic universe as Doctor Strange on November 4.
