JK Rowling Teases Harry Potter Connections In Fantastic Beasts Featurette

J.K. Rowling recently revealed that there will be five films in her Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them series, and now she's teasing the connections between Fantastic Beasts and the beloved Harry Potter series.

In a new featurette for the film Rowling touches on the fact that the magical history found in Fantastic Beasts is referenced in the Harry Potter series, and there will be some surprising connections revealed between the two along the way.

"In Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you're learning about a part of magical history that that's talked about in the Potter books but you never see. I'm getting a chance to tell that now. In the 1920's, magic developed very differently in America. Because of this tension, their wizarding world is in a state of high alert at that time. This is new material. There are ways in which we connect to the Potter books that I think people will find surprising. We're talking about the first time a wizard rose and threatened the world order. This was always where I was interested in going. This is what I wanted to do.

An example of this is given when Colin Farrell's Percival Graves is speaking to Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander. Graves says to Scamander"What makes Albus Dumbledore so fond of you." According to Rowling, statements like that are just the tip of the iceberg, and fans are certainly excited to see what she has in store.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an all-new adventure returning us to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them brings the world of magic to theaters on November 18.
