Happy birthday, Christopher Lloyd! The actor turns 70 today. Great Scott!

Born in October 1938, Lloyd grew up in Connecticut with his parents Samuel and Ruth. The actor was the youngest of seven and began pursuing theater at a young age. He started his career by apprenticing at summer theaters and even took classes in New York at age 19. He made his theater debut in And They Put Handcuffs on the Flowers and appeared in dozens of players afterwards. Lloyd's stage resume includes works such as Kaspar, Macbeth, What Ever Woman Knows, and more.

In 1977, Lloyd made his film debut in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest before starring in the sitcom Taxi as a hippie cab driver known as 'Reverend' Jim Ignatowski. Then, Lloyd would go on to score the role he's best known for as Emmett 'Doc' Brown in Back to the Future.

The actor would star in all three films of the sci-fi trilogy before starring in other projects lie Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Clue. His work in Who Framed Roger Rabbit is particular well-known to audiences today as well.

In the past decade, Lloyd has revisited his role as Doc Brown throughout the years. He reprised the character when he provided vocals for Back to the Future: The Game, a series created by Telltale Games. He also reprise the role for an advertising campaign with both Garbarino and Nike to benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation. He also voiced the iconic scientist in 2012 and 2013 on Adult Swim's Robot Chicken.
