In last Thursday's episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Dr. Martin Stein (portrayed by Victor Garber) stepped down as team leader after struggling to make quick and decisive decisions. But before doing so, his final act was naming Sara Lance/White Canary (portrayed by Caity Lotz) the team's new leader.

How will Sara handle being the leader? "As you start to see her become more and more comfortable in being the leader of this rag-tag group, it's so much fun to watch her," Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim told EW. "The character's embodying the role of a leader, Caity's performance really embraces it. It turns out to be one of the most successful things we've done in season 2."

This season's big mystery is what happened to their original leader, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), but viewers shouldn't expect that to be the team's next mission. "That's going to be something that's always going on in the background, and in some cases the foreground, of the various episodes," Guggenheim shared. "To a certain extent, we don't want to change the mission statement from fixing aberrations to going and saving Rip. The bat has been taken out of their hands because there's no way to find Rip, so what would they do? You will find out [what happened to Rip] before the Legends do."

SECRETS AND NEW FOUND POWERS — Nate (Nick Zano) is shocked to learn that he has powers but then accidentally lands himself and Ray (Brandon Routh) in Feudal Japan. After Sara (Caity Lotz) convinces their stowaway Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), AKA Vixen, that Rory (Dominic Purcell) is not a murderer, they all agree to find Nate and help him master his powers in order to defend the Japanese village from the Shogun and his army of samurai warriors. Meanwhile, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) stay back to help fix the ship and find a secret compartment but decide not to tell the rest of the team what they learn.
