How Steven Yeun & Michael Cudlitz Killed Time On The Walking Dead Set

Is it too soon to make puns about the recent deaths on The Walking Dead? Eh, probably not - so spoilers below!

Last Sunday, fans were treated to a rather shocking premiere episode of The Walking Dead. The Season 7 debut left fans reeling after two fan-favorite character were brutally killed by Negan in a show of power. Both Glenn and Abraham had their brains bashed in by the leader of the Saviors, and filming the scenes was just as heart-wrenching as you might imagine.

However, Steven Yeun and Michael Cudlitz still managed to kill time while on-set.

The former actor appeared on Conan last night to talk about his tenure on The Walking Dead, and Yeun shared a video of him chilling out with Cudlitz on the show's set between takes of the premiere episode.

"That whole night took hours," Yeun said. "We were just camping out in the makeup trailer looking super gnarly, and we had to kill some time to make ourselves laugh because it was so sad."

The video that Yeun shared is a hilarious grotesque one. When the clips begins playing, fans can hear Cudltiz telling viewers that, "Steven and I have been sitting here for awhile and drinking Starbucks coffee." But, when the camera zooms out, fans can see that the two actors are fully dressed in their gruesome special effects make up.

Yeun can be heard yelling, "I feel fine," before Cudlitz mirrors the statement. Naturally, the video then wraps with the latter singing a short jig of, If I were king of the forest…"

After the video ended, viewers were returned to a shot of Yeun and Conan as they laughed about the light-hearted video. The Walking Dead actor also took a moment to praise his co-star and said, "Let's not forget that Michael Cudlitz made Abraham into one of the greatest characters on television as well. He's so phenomenal, and I'm honored to share that death with him. He's awesome."

Later this week, fans can tune into the second epsiode of Season 7 when The Walking Dead returns on Sunday. The official synopsis for 'The Kingdom' is as follows: "For a number of familiar faces, a new, well-established community seems too good to be true."

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, The Walking Dead reigns as television's most watched drama for adults 18-49 and tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse, and follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home.

The series stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Steven Yeun as Glenn, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Chandler Riggs as Carl, Lauren Cohan as Maggie, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Melissa McBride as Carol, Sonequa-Martin Green as Sasha, Michael Cudlitz as Abraham, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan.

"The Kingdom" will air Sunday, October 30 at 9/8c on AMC. Conan airs weeknights at 11 p.m. over on TBS.
