Today, election fever hit an all time high. Millions of Americans exercised their civil liberties at voting polls all over the country, and it looks like one popular extraterrestrial superhero also joined in on the fun. In a recent Facebook post, Kevin Smith shared a photo of himself and Supergirl's Melissa Benoist after they went and voted.

"I VOTED, in hopes of keeping this Kryptonian refugee from being deported. I also voted to legalize weed in California," Smith wrote. "Whatever YOUR reasons are for voting today, just get out and vote!"

Of course, Smith and Benoist are not the only celebrities who showed off their "I Voted" stickers. For instance, Chloe Bennet from Agents of SHIELD shared a video of her in full costume with the sticker tacked onto her gloved fist.

And - before any complaints roll in - Benoist is totally able to vote. She might play an otherworldly alien from Krypton on The CW's Supergirl, but she's actually a U.S. resident with full voting privileges in real life. She's from Houston, Texas; You don't get much more American than that.

This photo update is not the only one that Smith has shared. Recently, the filmmaker has be working on his episode of Supergirl for Season 2. To celebrate his work, the director shared a behind-the-scenes video which shows how Supergirl flies on the show.

Smith's video shows Benoist strapped into a rather complex harness while a green-screen technician steers her around. Artificial wind is also added to give the heroine wind-swept hair, and it also makes her cape billow with purpose.

If you want to check out the episode synopsis for the next episode of Supergirl, then you can read it below:

"THE GUARDIAN DEBUTS IN NATIONAL CITY – The Guardian debuts to lend a hand after a parasite alien drains Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) of her power. Mon-El (Chris Wood) considers a less than desirable new career which then leads him to contemplate his motives. Alex (Chyler Leigh) struggles with a new reality."

Andrew Kreisberg and Caitlin Parris wrote the script based on the story by Greg Beranti. The episode was directed by Larry Teng.

Distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, SUPERGIRL is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash), Ali Adler (The New Normal), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Arrow) and Sarah Schechter (Blindspot, The Mysteries of Laura). Supergirl is based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and appearing in DC Comics, by special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel Family.

Supergirl airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. "Changing" will debut on November 14, 2016.
