The cast of Jumanji is getting a new addition, one who carries with him some experience in the presidential arena.

Actor Tim Matheson has been brought on board to play the role of Old Man Vreeke in the Jake Kasdan-directed film (via Deadline). Matheson is more known for serious roles, like his portrayal of Jed Bartlett's Vice President John Hoynes in the West Wing (which he earned two Emmy nominations for), or his portrayal of President Ronald Regan in Killing Reagan.

This role should give him some room for more comedic elements to shine through, but that, of course, depends on how they approach the character.

Johnson recently shared some thoughts on the film, saying: "Been shooting #Jumanji for months now and I've been waiting patiently for this night to come... In the original movie, the world of #Jumanji came to us. Now 20yrs later in our continuation of the story, we go to the amazing and deadly world of #Jumanji. For months we've shot everything.. all the comedy, all the jungle action and all the heart," Johnson wrote.

They've managed to assemble quite the talented cast, including Matheson, and hopefully, a trailer is in the not too distant future.

Jumanji is the sequel to the beloved Robin Williams starring classic from 1995, and features the talents of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (Dr. Smolder Bravestone), Kevin Hart (Moose Finbar), Karen Gillan (Ruby Roundhouse), Jack Black (Professor Shelly Oberon), Nick Jonas, Ser Darius Blain (Anthony "Fridge" Johnson), Madison Iseman, Rhys Darby, and Morgan Turner. The film is being directed by Jake Kasdan and is based on a script by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.

Jumanji hits theaters on July 28, 2017.
