5 Marvel Kotobukiya Bishoujo Statues We Still Want
Kotobukiya's always had a knack for designing wonderful superhero statues, whether it's part of [...]
Captain Marvel
There's actually already been a Carol Danvers Bishoujo statue in the line, but that was created after her Ms. Marvel look, which if you don't remember included the black suit, red sash, and yellow lightning bolt.
They also created a limited variant of that statue themed after her Binary identity, but since that time she's gone on to become one of the premier heroes in the Marvel Universe, and fully accepted the Captain Marvel mantle.
There would be a base version that comes unmasked, with an energy blast attachment for her hand, and the exclusive version would also come with a switchable portrait that featured the mask. Some might complain that there is already a Danvers out there, so why focus on it, but Captain Marvel deserves a place on the roster.
prevnextMedusa
The Queen of the Inhumans is Attilan royalty, but she and her family haven't always been the most popular characters in the Marvel Universe. With the distancing of the X-Men franchise, however, Marvel shined the spotlight directly on the royal family, and the breakout star would have to be Medusa.
Kotobukiya is quite adept at sculpting hair, and their talents would be put to the test with Medusa. Her hair would flow in all directions, as she poses with her arm held out as if commanding an enemy to stop where they stand. It would feature an angrier expression, but Kotobukiya could still give it the softness it needs to be part of the line.
prevnextMs. Marvel (Kamala Khan)
Yes yes, there are two characters on this list who have the name Marvel in their title, and that will irk some folks. The thing is it just kind of worked out that way, and like Danvers Kamala Khan has become one of the brightest spots in the current Marvel Universe.
With Kamala, it will be important for Kotobukiya to show some restraint in the sexiness department. Their Jubilee statue didn't adhere to that, and it suffered greatly for it. Kamala's expression should be adventurous and determined, and the sculptors have so much room for creativity thanks to her powers, which almost demand that one of her hands is giant in size forming a fist.
The leader of the Champions deserves her own Bishoujo statue, and hopefully, it happens sooner rather than later.
prevnextRiRi Williams (Ironheart)
The newest addition to the Iron Man family is RiRi Williams, and in a short time frame, she's made quite an impact on readers.
Like with Kamala, it will be important for Kotobukiya to focus on the fun and youthful side of the character, with a perfect comparison being their recent Squirrel Girl statue. Sure she's attractive, but that isn't the focal point, and they wisely took who they were sculpting into account when they designed her. RiRi could have two versions with swappable portraits, but both versions would come with full armor, with her face and hair being the only things unarmored.
prevnextMaria Hill
Love her or hate her (and there are plenty who reside in both camps), Maria Hill has become one of the mainstays of the Marvel Universe in her time as director of SHIELD.
The statue would include her trademark short black hair, numerous weapons, and a perfectly kick-ass pose that shows her blowing the smoke away from her pistol while holding a Doombot's head in her hand.
As an added bonus Hill's base would be themed after the SHIELD Helicarrier, and would even come with a swappable portrait with a more comic based face and a face themed after Cobie Smulders portrayal from the Marvel Studios films.
