Star Wars Cast And Disney React To Carrie Fisher's Death

The Star Wars community has sadly lost one of the most key players in the franchise. Carrie Fisher has passed away at the age of 60. She first suffered a heart attack on a plane flight, and then was declared dead days later.

We are all devastated, but key members of the Star Wars cast have taken to Twitter to express how truly saddening this loss really is:

Disney CEO Bob Iger released a statement on Fisher's passing as well:

Carrie Fisher was one-of-a-kind, a true character who shared her talent and her truth with us all with her trademark wit and irreverence. Millions fell in love with her as the indomitable Princess Leia; she will always have a special place in the hearts of Star Wars fans as well as all of us who were lucky enough to know her personally. She will be sorely missed, and we join millions of fans and friends around the world who mourn her loss today.

Prior to Fisher's passing, she suffered a massive heart attack on board a plane traveling from London to Los Angeles. 15-minutes before the plane was due to land, Fisher reportedly went into full cardiac arrest and a passenger administered CPR.When the flight landed at the Los Angeles International Airport, she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

Fisher was a highly talented actress, and an overall force to be reckoned with both in front of and behind the camera.

She will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, Carrie Fisher.
