Agents Of SHIELD: Five Predictions For Remainder Of Season 4
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD is just one week away from returning for the second half of Season 4, [...]
Jeffrey Mace Isn't An Inhuman
When Marvel's Agents of SHIELD kicked off, fans were introduced to the new director of SHIELD, Jeffrey Mace.
Mace was chosen by former director Phil Coulson to head SHIELD because Coulson felt that, if SHIELD is going to begin registering Inhumans, the organization should be led by someone with powers of his own.
Captain America and Quake were both unavailable at the time, and so Coulson chose Mace, who was noted for acts of bravery at the United Nations bombing in that took place in Captain America: Civil War.
However, Sen. Nadeer knows a secert about Mace, supposedly the real reason he was at the United Nations that day. Given Mace's comic book history as first the Patriot and then a Capain America, we're speculating that we may find out Mace isn't actually an Inhuman but instead got his powers from an experiment meant to replicate the one that gave Steve Rogers his powers, perhaps one that took place before Captain America emerged from the ice.
prevnextAida Is Possessed By An Elder God
As soon as Dr. Holden Radcliffe created the life model decoy now known as Aida pretty much everyone knew it would spell trouble. Well, everyone except Radcliffe at least.
At first, Aida seemed helpful enough and did assist in saving May's life at one point. But then the team let her read the Darkhold, which was instrumental in returning Coulson, Fitz, and Robbie Reyes to the physical plane, but things haven't been the same since.
After absorbing the knowledge of the Darkhold, Aida starting becoming oddly curious in human biology. It turns out she was building herself a replica LMD of Agent May and used it to replace the real May within SHIELD in the midseason finale.
So what's gotten into Aida? We're guessing it's a demonic presence. According to Marvel Comics lore, the knowledge contained within the Darkhold was first put down by Chthon, a demon of the Elder Gods.
Chthon was banished from Earth but has been known to corrupt others through the Darkhold. It seems likely that this is what occurred with Aida.
prevnextGhost Rider Returns
Ghost Rider made a rather dramatic exit from the Agents of SHIELD midseason finale, dragging his evil uncle Eli Morrow along with him, and his name has been dropped as the subtitle of the second half of Season 4, but we have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the Marvel's Spirit of Vengeance.
If our previous prediction about Aida being possessed by a demonic Elder God proves true, then SHIELD may need to fight hellfire with hellfire (but not that Hellfire).
We're guessing that Ghost Rider will return in SHIELD's time of needs, possibly with some new information and new missions statement regard Chthon.
prevnextThe Mysterious Inhuman Is Grid
One of the dangling plot threads leftover from the first have of Agents of SHIELD Season 4 is the significance of the mysterious Inhuman that Agent Simmons was sent to study.
Nadeer used whatever information she has on Director Mace to blackmail him into sending Simmons blindly into a top secret mission. That mission brought Simmons to an Inhuman, presumably Nadeer's brother, who was still in his terrigenesis cacoon after seven months. Simmons was able to help the Inhuman breach his cacoon, but was quickly whisked away before she could learn anything else about him or his situation.
We're predicting that this Inhuman turns out to be Grid, a Nuhuman from the Marvel Comics universe. Yes, Grid is from India, but that's not the biggest reason for this. More important is Grid's Inhuman ability to interact with computers, manipulate emit electro magnetic energy, and channel energy. This power set seems like it could be vital in dealingw th life model decoys.
prevnextCoulson Will Grow Closer To The May LMD
This is sure to be the most heartbreaking subplot of Agents of SHIELD Season 4.
Fans have been shipping Phil Coulsona and Melinda May hard, especially since May's near-death experience early in Season 4 started bringing the two of them closer together.
It seems like Coulson and May are finally ready to give their relationship a serious try as of the midseason finale. The problem is that isn't May cozying up to Coulson in the midesason finale, but the life model decoy that Aida replaced May with.
We think things are going to get more intimate between Coulson and the May LMD before anyone realizes what's happened to the real May. Unfortunately, the closer Phil gets to the fake May, the more hurt the real May is likely to be whe (if?) she returns.
