If you are a fan of the Fate/Stay Night franchise, then you will surely be excited to hear that a movie trilogy is well on the way. During the holidays, the official website for Fate/Stay Night has finally revealed the first full-length trailer for the Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel series. The slow-moving trailer introduces fans to characters Shiro Emiya and Sakura Mato. And, of course, anime fans are excited to see what the first installment of the film trilogy will bring to the table.

Luckily, fans will be able to find out more about the film in the coming months. The February 2017 issue of Monthly Newtype magazine will include a feature on the franchise's 2017 works - and Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel will be included in that package. A slew of new side-projects will be add to the overall franchise as a brand-new television special, film, and anime find their way to homes all over the world.

In March, the cast and crew of Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel was released for fans to look over. It was also announced than that the film trilogy will begin premiering in 2017 after being packaged as a solo effort back in 2014.

Tomonori Sudou will be in-charge of directing the film while ufotable will take care of all the animation. Yuki Kajiura will do compositions and storyboards will be provided by Takahiro Miura. Noriaki Sugiyama will voice Shiro while Norkio Shitaya lends their voice to Sakura.

Here's the synopsis for Fate/Stay Night Heaven's Feel:

"The story of the film will revolve around Sakura Matō, the younger sister by blood to Rin Tohsaka, but when she was young, Sakura was sent to the Matō household as an adopted daughter. There, she was given torturous training in order to give her powerful magic powers. Sakura was not supposed to enter the Holy Grail War, but due to her getting into a romantic relationship with Shirō, the passion hidden within herself and her mental restraints go berserk. Sakura becomes a large game-changer in the Holy Grail War, and forces Shirō to walk toward a cruel fate."

If you are not familiar with the Fate/Stay Night franchise, then you should know the series came out back in January 2004 as a video game. The story was then adapted into a manga series in Shonen Ace magazine starting in February 2016. Studio Deen then brought the story to life in an acclaimed anime series in 2010, and the franchise also pushed out a slew of spin-off light novels and video games in the past years.

Fate/Stay Night revolves around a young man named Shirō Emiya who is unwillingly entered into a dangerous magical tournament known as the Holy Grail War. The event pits powerful mages against one another as they fight for the Holy Grail, a mysterious object that has the power to grant any wish. Emiya, an orphan living in Fuyuki City, trains to become one the world's most powerful mages in order to help the city's poorer classes. However, those dreams are complicated when he encounter a young woman named Saber who helps him through the Holy Grail War.
