Say it ain't so! Over the past few weeks, fans of the DC Extended Universe have grown more concerned about Ben Affleck's Batman movie. The much-anticipated film is still deep in development as its script is still being worked on, but Affleck has insisted the movie will be ready to being production this spring. However, rumors are now swirling that Affleck's Batman is already veering off course just days into the new year, and it could mean that The Batman has been pushed back.

According to Batman on Film, the site's sources have told Bill "Jett" Ramey that The Batman has been pushed back. The anonymous source told the site production has been pushed "a couple of months." Of course, if the source is correct, then it looks like The Batman might be eyeing a new release date. Should production now kick off until the summer, a July 2018 release may be impossible.
Fans should not be too surprised by the rumors given the state of The Batman. The anticipated movie will see Joe Manganiello bring Deathstroke to life, but few other details about the film have been revealed due to its nonexistent script. Not long ago, Affleck confirmed the script for The Batman was still in the works, and the director stressed he would drop the film if things don't come together.
"It's not a set thing and there's no script," he told The Guardian. "If it doesn't come together in a way I think is really great I'm not going to do it."
Affleck said much the same thing to Entertainment Weekly when he spoke about how The Batman was doing. "I'm not going to write and direct anything that I don't think is good enough to be made," he explained. "I'm definitely going to make sure I have something that is special—there's not enough money in the world to make a mediocre version of Batman worth it."
For now, fans will have to wait and see what the official word is on The Batman. Affleck and his creative team are hard at work on the project, and DC's Geoff Johns has famously lent his help to The Batman. Hopefully, the all-star feature will get its legs sooner rather than later and kick-off production with a bang. Perhaps the momentum of this year's Justice League will help launch the DC Film in the right direction?
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
