Agents of SHIELD: Clark Gregg Considers Coulson's Chance At Romance

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD returns from hiatus tonight for the second half of its fourth season and will continue pulling at plot threads laid down during the first half.
One of those threads was what seemed to be a budding romance between Phil Coulson and Melinda May. Things are possibly complicated now by May being replaced with a life model decoy.
Still, could Coulson find romance be in the air for Coulson? "Wouldn't that be nice?" star Clark Gregg told ComicBook.com during a set visit. "I wouldn't wish it on anybody because the last person he made out with was only around for another couple of days, but Grant Ward got taken out in return, so maybe it will be a safer swiping experience."
Perhaps," Gregg continues. "That would be nice to see. Maybe it will be somebody new that we meet, maybe it will be somebody we've known for a while."
Coulson also commented on the coming of the LMDs. "It's always been a cool part of the comics," he says. "It's a very cool thing. I loved the movie Ex Machina last year. I'm loving Westworld right now. Just the concept of AIs and synthetic humans and what makes a robot or a human and what give it a soul, I love that stuff. I think, like a lot of great sci-fi stuff, it makes us think about who we are from a different angle."+
