When it comes to anime, cosplay is just an expected thing for fans to do. Whether you're dressing up as a ninja of pulling a casual Sailor Moon look, fans all over the world have found ways to rock their anime obsessions. In Japan, plenty of audiences tend to push their wardrobe towards One Piece since the anime is still one of the country's most popular series. And, now, it seems like fans have unwittingly started a cosplay trend abroad that desperately needs to make its way stateside.

Thanks to the most recent One Piece arc, anime fans met the colorful character Donquixote Doflamingo in all his pink feathered glory. The obnoxiously dressed man is known for his gaudy attire, and fans can't get enough of it. The site Togetter pulled together slew of social media posts which show fans mirroring Doflamingo's style, and there are some pretty uncanny photos to sample.

Called 'Doflamingo Girls,' the site took photos of Japanese news stations which reported on the cosplay trend. Crews interviewed local women who were sporting similar pink jackets to the Doflamingo character, and fans of One Piece went into a frenzy trying to nab their own staple pieces.

While it may be fun to dress like the pirate, that is about the only thing fans would want to mimic about Doflamingo. The eccentric pirate is not someone known for their kindness, and he has caused numerous problems for Captain Luffy and his Straw-Hat Pirates. As the captain of the Donquixote Pirates, Doflamingo was the most powerful underworld broker in One Piece and feared amongst the sea. After having killed his family as a young man, Doflamingo became the king of Dressrosa where he ruled his underlings with a iron fist before Luffy defeated him. As a major villain for the Marineford and Dressrosa storylines, fans are less-than-friendly with Doflamingo. But, really, who can blame their interest in his attire?
