In The Flash midseason finale 'The Present,' we saw a time-hopping Barry Allen witness the murder of his love interest, Iris West, at the hands of Savitar in one of virtually infinite futures.
With just one episode since then, we've seen Team Flash doing everything within their power to make sure Iris getting isn't a future that comes true.

Thanks to our friend BossLogic, we're painted a picture a very grim future we see Savitar with his hands on either side of Barry's head with Barry in obvious pain. Below that, we see an image of Barry embracing Iris phasing away into thin air.
Barry originally stumbled on this future as he was traveling through the Speed Force with a box containing The Philosopher's Stone and Savitar in an attempt to trap the latter within time itself. Accidentally stumbling out of the Speed Force, Barry happens upon a bus stop where a TV report is coming across that has a slew of DC Easter eggs, including a mention of an impending gorilla attack. He then sees his future self going toe to toe with Savitar as the latter impales Iris.
