Both Gotham and Supergirl had slight downticks in the overnight ratings week over week, despite a considerable amount of hype for the former going into its last new episode for the next three months. Both downticked by .1 in the 18-49 demographic ratings, and both lost a couple hundred thousand total viewers, as well.

Gotham, one of the most consistent programs on TV, went from a 1.2 to a 1.1 - but it hasn't dropped below the 1.0 mark this season. Overnight total viewers also dipped slightly from 3.63 to 3.46 million. FOX has made it very public that they do not consider early/overnight/same day ratings, so the Live +3 and Live +7 are more important to watch for this show. With consistent buzz about Cameron Monaghan's performance as the prototypical Joker character Jerome and David Mazouz's young Bruce Wayne on the cusp of some Batman-ing, plus an apparent major character death, look for the +3 and +7 numbers (for DVR viewers) to shoot up.

For Supergirl, the .7 rating is not its season low (it hit a .6 back in October), but it's close, and down from the .8 the week before. These numbers are reflective of where it stayed hovering around before the crossover with the other CW superhero shows, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. Supergirl along with the other shows has already received another season order from The CW, but the network would certainly like to see it stabilize a little higher than its current numbers.

The test now will be if Supergirl, up against slightly less direct competition for the next three months as 24: Legacy takes Gotham's time slot through the end of April, will see a bit of an uptick in its ratings. Certainly WBTV, the company helming production on all these DC Comics shows alongside its partner networks, hopes that its two shows not directly competing will be beneficial.
