When the God of Thunder returns to the silver screen this Fall in Thor: Ragnarok, his third solo outing, it will be actor Chris Hemsworth's funniest portrayal of the character to date according to fellow castmate Tom Hiddleston.

"I can confidently say this will be the funniest depiction of the character of Thor that you've ever seen," Hiddleston said in a recent interview with Fandango. "I personally have known for almost 10 years that Chris Hemsworth is hilarious. I think this go-round will be his chance."

We last saw Thor Odinson in a brief cameo in a post-credits scene after Doctor Strange as the God of Thunder sought help from the keeper of the Sanctum Sanctorum, a likely scene that will be shown more in-depth during Ragnarok.

While Thor has been a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that largely remains much more serious, Hemsworth's comedic side has been seen in the two Team Thor featurettes included as extra on the home releases of both Strange and Captain America: Civil War. Fans have been seen Hemsworth's funny as the actor also appeared as the dim-witted receptionist Kevin in last summer's Ghostbusters.

"In Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

"Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins."
