Earlier this week, Archie Comics released the solicitations for product shipping in May 2017...and the description for Riverdale #2, the comic set in the world of The CW's Archie Comics adaptation, sounds...a bit familiar.
How so? Well, let's ask Archie's mom, who's played by '80s teen movie legend Molly Ringwald.
That's right, folks: They're doing The Breakfast Club in Riverdale -- and they're seriously not even trying to be subtle about it.
Ringwald, who will play Archie's mother, starred in the film alongside Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, and Emilio Estevez.
"I definitely was aware of who she was and the accolades she holds," series star KJ Apa told ComicBook.com during a recent set visit. "It was amazing being able to work with her for an episode."
