Ranking The Daredevil Costumes

Daredevil 1990's
Marvel was redesigned a few of its iconic characters in the 1990's to varying results. One such redesign was given to Daredevil, who decided to sport an edgier and more armored look after deciding his previous suit wasn't durable enough.
The answer to his armor woes? Just sprinkle some adamantium in it, give him some shoulder and knee plates, and call it a day! This look wasn't so well received at the time, but over the years has developed some fans. The suit really shines in action sequences but could have been even better with a few subtle tweaks.

It's not out of the ordinary for the "dark" version of a character to get a cooler costume than the original (see Dark Phoenix, Archangel, and Wario for reference. Yes, you read that right, Wario over Mario #OverratedPlumbers).
In any case, Daredevil is also party to this pattern, as his "Shadowland" garb is one of the slickest versions of his costume. It's rather simple, with an all black suit with red accents, including a modernized logo, but in action it's exceptional.

Like the 1990's costume, the Daredevil film has also developed a bigger fanbase over time it seems, especially in regards to the costume.
The suit was extremely faithful to the comic version and looked good in motion on-screen. It might have come out on top if not for another potent color combination.
prevnextDaredevil Classic Red
There is something about the classic all red look that is rather timeless, and a variety of talented artists have managed to make someone completely in red with devil horns look intimidating and not like someone who shopped clearance at Party City.
It's the basis for all interpretations of the character, regardless of the medium, and deservedly so. Regardless of how successful other versions are, this will always be held up as the most iconic.
prevnextDaredevil Netflix (V2)
While the classic all red is the most iconic, that doesn't mean it's necessarily the best. Hold your pitchforks for a moment and let that sink in.
Characters and their costumes evolve over the years, and when Netflix brought their version of Daredevil to the screen fans were immediately giddy over their grasp of the character. That includes a costume that is both referential of source material without being afraid to bring it into modern times.
The costume goes with a darker red than the previous film, while also adding some black accents, blending two popular costumes into one sleek version, complete with a cowl that actually looks like it could take a hit or two.
It's truly the best of both worlds, and it's going to be difficult to top.
