As the star of The CW's Arrow, Stephen Amell is clearly someone who can appreciate a good, dark and gritty take on DC Comics' street-level vigilante superheroes. So much so that there's actually a specific line from another, similar DC Comics live-action adaptation that he'd like to borrow for just one scene of Arrow.
In tweet on Friday, Amell told his follows that "Just once I'd love for Oliver to rip his shirt off, stare someone down and say, 'Do you wanna know how I got these scars...?'"

The line about the scars should sound familiar to fans of DC Comics. In the case of Arrow, Amell's Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, would take his shirt off to reveal the many scars he has across his torso. Of course, Amell was likely just having a bit of fun on Twitter, but it's clear he has an appreciation for the Amell was likely just having a bit of fun on Twitter, but it's clear he has an appreciation for The Dark Knight and Heath Ledger's take on the joker.
The Dark Knight was released in 2008 as the second film in what would become known as Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. Ledger was posthumously awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting actor for his performance as the Joker. The Dark Knight saw the Joker arrive in Gotham City to challenge both the vigilante Batman (Christian Bale) and the white knight district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) for the soul of the city and its citizens.
Arrow, currently in its fifth season, airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
