Even though we are stills weeks away from the spring premiere of Gotham, FOX has released a new "The Transformation Begins" trailer.
"I've been waiting a long time for you to begin your journey," Raymond J. Barry's (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) temple shaman character, who is wearing a robe and sitting on the floor, says to Bruce Wayne — who is listening intently and also donning a robe and sitting on the floor. He adds, "People are afraid. And fear breeds hopelessness. Gotham needs something that you can provide."
An astonished Bruce simply asks, "What?"
"A protector, Bruce," the shaman replies.
And what else do we know about Barry's character? Deadline reports, he is "a mysterious figure who enters Bruce's life with the stated intention of unlocking the potential of his own mind. While the Shaman says the fate of Gotham depends upon Bruce becoming the man the city needs him to become, the truth behind his intentions proves to be far more sinister."
The regular cast features Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/the future Riddler, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Maggie Geha as the future Poison Ivy, Michael Chiklis as Detective Nathaniel Barnes, and Benedict Samuel as Mad Hatter.
The all-new "How the Riddler Got His Name" episode of Gotham will air Monday, April 24 at 8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT on FOX.
