So you've probably watched the brand new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi a hundred times now. Or a thousand. It's OK to admit it; we won't judge you. In fact, we're in the same boat.
The brand new clip for Rian Johnson's entry in the Saga is packed with references to previous movies and hints toward the future of the franchise. We finally get to see Rey, Finn, Poe, BB-8, and everyone else (who's still alive) as they continue the adventure that began in the Force Awakens.
And though we get to see a ton of awesome new moments in the teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi—like the lightsaber training, new speeders going up against some First Order Walkers, and Poe's X-Wing blowing up—we also get some classic references to pivotal moments in Star Wars history. We've already talked about the Obi-Wan and Princess Leia easter eggs, but did you notice this reference to a classic Yoda line?
The video above makes it clear if you didn't hear it before, but like the other two lines it takes a cue out of the JJ Abrams Playbook.

In the Force Awakens, Rey gets a hold of Anakin Skywalker's old lightsaber for the first time which ignites a vision. When she finally breaks free from the Force, the faint words of Obi-Wan Kenobi reveal that she's taken her 'first steps into a larger world.'
And here, in the Last Jedi teaser, Luke seems to be training Rey in how to utilize the Force to gain a better understanding of the world around her. When he asks what she sees, Rey responds "Light. Darkness. The balance."
As she delivers that last line, Yoda can faintly be heard saying "surrounds us, and binds us."
The Jedi Master originally delivered that line in Empire Strikes Back, when he takes Luke under his wing. He's telling Skywalker of the Force's vast influence in the universe and how it affects everyone.
The Last Jedi seems to be building toward a moment where "Jedi" and "Sith" are no longer synonymous with "Light" and "Dark." In fact, by the film's end, those faction names might not even be relevant. Though Jedi and Sith have existed for thousands of years, the story might be building toward a balance of the two in order to save the universe. It's an interesting point, given one side is inherently good while the other supremely evil.
It should also be noted that Frank Oz recently made comments that hinted at his involvement, or at least his inability to speak about his involvement. Could we be seeing the return of Yoda—and maybe other deceased Jedi Masters—in the form of Force ghosts?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, from writer/director Rian Johnson, is in post-production now for a December 15, 2017 release. The film follows-up and continues the story of the next generation of the saga as Rey, Poe, Finn, and Kylo Ren find their place in the galaxy and follow the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo. Daisy Ridley returns to star as Rey, with other returning stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong'o Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
