ABC has released a trio of photos, featuring Fitz's father doing some light reading and Simmons with a gun pointed at her boyfriend (?), and an official synopsis for the upcoming "Farewell, Cruel World!" episode -- which will air at the start of next month.
Below, you can check out the preview images in our gallery and a description for the episode.
IT'S THE END OF S.H.I.E.L.D.'S WORLD – The clock is ticking for Daisy and Simmons to get the team out of the Framework, but not everyone is ready and willing to leave.
Based on that synopsis, we can probably assume that Mack is one of the people that isn't willing to leave. And who could blame him? In the real world, Mack had a daughter named Hope. She was born 11 years ago but died four days after coming into the world. That tragedy destroyed a part of him and his marriage to Nicole. But in the Framework, Hope is alive and Mack gets to be the father he always dreamed he would be. Even when he learns the truth of the virtual prison, he may not want out.
The regular cast features Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie and John Hannah as Holden Radcliffe.
The guest cast includes Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez, Mallory Jansen as Madame Hydra/Aida, Jordan Rivera as Hope Mackenzie, Briana Venskus as Agent Piper, Maximilian Osinski as Agent Davis, Patrick Cavanaugh as Burrows, David O'Hara as Alistair, Ricardo Walker as Agent Prince, Rheagan Wallace as Marilyn, and Richard Whiten as Gedrick.
"Farewell, Cruel World!" was written by Brent Fletcher and directed by Vincent Misiano.
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD was co-created by Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), who also serve as executive producers along with Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Jessica Jones, Daredevil). Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
"Farewell, Cruel World!" episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will air Tuesday, May 2 at 10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT on The ABC Television Network.
