Being out of work and having no criminals to go after, Kara is currently in a funk. So with her free time, she is grief-baking ... and doing a poor job at that. Her very good friend Lena Luthor drops by to cheer up Kara and has a request of the unemployed reporter.
"So today there is a press conference for Spherical Industries new unveiling," Lena explains to Kara. "Whatever they announce is going to be the next big thing that everyone wants." She adds, "Their CEO, Jack Spheer, and I, we... We used to be close."
Lena was in a romantic relationship with Spheer for two years as they worked on a cure for cancer at a startup company. She received a personal invite to the press conference, and seeing as though Spheer is her kryptonite, she asks Kara to go with her as emotional support.
As they walk out the door, Lena playfully asks Kara: "What's your kryptonite?"
