Greedo Actor Reveals Deleted Han Solo Scene In Original Star Wars

George Lucas made many changes to the original Star Wars film, now dubbed A New Hope, both during the course of its filming and also well after it originally released in theaters. Actors were replaced with CGI characters, new scenes were added in, and of course Han Solo was remixed to that he infamously did not shoot Greedo first.
And apparently another big change was made during the course of production, nixing a shootout between Han and some Stormtroopers according to the Rodian bounty hunter himself.
While speaking with Sci Fi Central Austrailia, Greedo actor Paul Blake revealed an intriguing new detail about his time on the set of the first Star Wars movie.
"There's a brilliant little sequence which I loved doing with Harrison, where we were shooting at each other…" Blake said. "We had this big gun battle where we were shooting at each other all morning. Then Stormtroopers come out the big double doors and we started firing at them."
Blake said he filmed on the production for five weeks and was included in the original Jabba the Hutt scenes that were cut, restored, then put back in the film with the CGI version of the character.
The actor revealed that he also played one of the Rodians in the background of that scene, so it's not really clear if it was Greedo in the big gunfight with Solo and the Stormtroopers or if it was "Generic Rodian #2."
Blake gave the hope that Lucas still has the footage somewhere at Skywalker Ranch and that he wanted it to be released soon, but knowing Lucas staunch stubbornness and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy's unwillingness to change the original films, its unlikely we ever see the scene.
Unless, of course, someone busts into the Ranch and steals the footage themselves, Fanboys style. Any takers?
Hopefully we see some more Rodians in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is set to hit theaters December 15.

Daisy Ridley returns to star as Rey, with other returning stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong'o Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa. Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern join the cast in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
