Maggie may be a mere mortal, but there is no way in heck she is going to sit on the sidelines and leave it up to Supergirl to rescue her girlfriend.
Kara and Maggie have never really bonded this season, so it would be nice if some sort of friendship formed between after they butt heads coming up with a solution. Up until now, Kara has come off jealous that Alex has spent so much time with Maggie, though she clearly happy that her sister came out and found some that makes her heart flutter. Plus, Kara has been occupied with her own matters of the heart.
"What's interesting is it's really an episode about jurisdiction," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW. "It's really a Maggie-Kara episode. It starts with them at loggerheads about, where does the police's jurisdiction end and where does Supergirl's begin? They're on opposite sides of that. Maggie is obviously more for the police and Supergirl is more for Supergirl."
"Who gets to make the decisions to save Alex: The sister or the girlfriend?" he continued. "It's great because neither of them are right and neither of them are wrong, and they both love her and both want her back. It's just a question of who's willing to do what to bring that about?"
