Injustice 2: Max Level Gear Sets Revealed
Getting your favorite character to level 20 in Injustice 2 can be a bit of a grind. If you're not [...]
Superman
This particular Superman loadout would probably benefit from a different shader, but then the red and metallic do look pretty nice together. The bolt crest is a nice touch, but we're still not huge fans of this style of helmet. It looks like a goody Bluetooth headset.
We're hoping and wishing that NetherRealm has added in, or will add in, some way for players to unlock the Brainiac ship suit that we see at the very end of the story mode. We can't explain it without spoiling the story, but if you want to see if for yourself, you can check it out in our end-game spoilers wrap-up right here.
prevnextGreen Arrow
We stared at this outfit for a long time trying to decide whether or not it should be included. While at first glance it looks a little goofy, it has a lot of things going for it. For one, Green Arrow is a bit of a goofy character, and the whole Robin Hood getup (or classic Green Arrow getup) compliments his whimsical personality.
We're also not sure if this player meant to do this or not, but the shaders do a lot for the fantasy theme. The leaf green fading to red reminds us very much of an apple, especially when you follow the tips of his bow to the center.
prevnextBane
We went back and forth between Bane and Atrocitus for a while before deciding that Bane has the classier getup. Atrocitus and Dextar look great in their level 20 loadouts, but Atrocitus comes off a little more organic and "crusty;" it's hard to tell that he's wearing much gear at all.
Bane on the other hand benefits not only from clearly visible armor on his hands and arms, but those glowing tubes are the perfect accent. Bane is one of the characters who gets the most out of shaders thanks to his venom tubes. And just between us, we think Bane's full-face helmet looks cooler than Batman's.
prevnextDeadshot
Look at that white and rose-gold assassin. Deadshot is feeling fabulous today, and looking fabulous to boot. We knew before Injustice 2 even launched that Deadshot would get some of the coolest gear in the game because, like Batman, he uses so much gear and so many gadgets. This looks like a super-soldier straight out of a certain modern first-person shooter. Yeah, if we showed you this image out of context, we bet you'd believe this was a loadout in Infinite Warfare or Black Ops 3.
Deadshot definitely has his own thing going on, though, and we appreciate the subtle golden accents this shader provides. It's just enough.
prevnextBatman
Here's the Dark Knight, and surprisingly, this player doesn't have one of those full-face metallic helmets that we've seen everywhere equipped. He's opted instead for what I'm going to call the creepy-cowl. Remember in Batman Begins when Batman gases Scarecrow with his own fear toxin, and then Batman morphs into some kind of weird, bat demon? Yeah, that's exactly what this looks like, and we think that this is the perfect outfit to to rock online to intimidate your opponents.
There's also a pretty strong Batman Beyond vibe going on here with the cowl and red and black shader.
prevnextBlack Adam
We don't mean to play favorites, but this is our favorite. Black Adam is one of the coolest characters to customize in Injustice 2 because not only do you get to outfit him in head-to-toe armor, you also get to customize what his lightning orbs look like. And there are some really cool lightning orbs.
Right now my Black Adam looks like he's holding a few of those plasma orbs that you placed your hands on as a kid to summon little bolts to your fingertips. It's neat, but it's nothing like this guy's loadout with freaking meteoric atoms spinning around. We also really love the royal shader.
prevnextDr. Fate
While Black Adam's electron lightning orbs gave him the edge and made his level 20 getup our favorite, Dr. Fate actually has the cooler set of armor. The literal crowning touch here is the helmet of fate, which hasn't ever not looked cool. You can't mess that up, and there are some subtle upgrades here and engraved shapes that really kick it up a notch.
It's the chest plate and pauldrons that really do me in, though. I'm such a sucker for layered armor -- I have been since I was a kid -- and that very subtle fauld flanking his hips is the perfect touch. Once again, the shader goes a long way here to push the cool-factor to 11.
prevnextCaptain Cold
We're thinking Captain Cold and Deadshot must have called each other to coordinate their outfits here, because the similarities are pretty pronounced. The rose-gold and white shader is striking, and all of Captain Cold's gear looks wonderful with those subtle accents. And check out that helmet! Capt. is going straight-up Cyclops with that visor, and we love it.
The glowing ammunition canisters around Captain Cold's body area his greatest asset here, and did you notice the chest-bound sheath glowing that same gentle golden hue? The artists and designers at NetherRealm really deserve some high accolades for their attention to detail.
prevnextJoker
And here we have perhaps the most aesthetically controversial character on the Injustice 2 roster. When Joker was revealed and we got our first glimpse of a few of his gear sets, fans were either totally disgusted or else singing his praises. I'm not a huge fan of the way he looks. He's a little to modern and urban.
Still, we figured that as a fan favorite character you might like to see what Joker can look like once you max him out and get some end-game loot. We do like this particular shader for the glowing eyes, perhaps this is a gods shader, but everything else can go.
prevnextSupergirl
And finally we have our beloved new protagonist. Supergirl plays a prominent and very important role throughout the Injustice 2 campaign, and we've noticed a lot of Supergirl mains online. Fans have really taken to Kara in Injustice 2, and she has a lot of great end-game loot.
Here we see one of Supergirl's more dignified loadouts, without the booty shorts or skirts that we're so used to seeing online. We're not crazy about the shader that this particular player elected to equip, but the collar plates and belt are really nice accents to what is undoubtedly one of Supergirl's coolest gear sets.
