We all know Injustice 2's super attacks can make all the difference in turning the tide of a match, especially if you're low on energy and trying to bring your opponent down to your level. But did you know you can actually increase or decrease the damage done with a super depending on button hits?

Yep, according to a YouTube user by the name of Enkindu, you can actually change the damaging effect of a super move depending on certain button presses with the hits. Here's how it actually works.

If you manage to land a super on the offensive side of things and begin initiating the attack, you'll see that damage is taken off your opponent's energy bar with each hit they land. However, if you manage to hit the heavy attack button with each strike – perfectly timed, of course – then you can actually land additional damage, making your super that much more effective. It's just a matter of getting your timing down, but you can actually clean our your opponent's health meter even quicker that way.

But there's a flip side to that – your opponent has a way of trying to get less damage as well. They can time their hits with each time that your character gets hit, by pressing down on the heavy attack button. If you do it correctly, the damage will actually be lesser than originally intended, even though there's still damage taken.

"You'll get icons below the health bar signifying your timing was correct," Enkindu points out, and they also confirmed that this is effective across all the characters on the roster, even stronger ones like Brainiac and Darkseid.

It's a neat little mini game that adds to the strength of each match, although you'll still need to rely on your wits if you want to avoid losing it. Still, give it a shot and see how well this strategy does for you.

In case you were doubting this strategy, you can see it in action in the video below. We're definitely trying it out tonight.

Injustice 2 is available now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
