You may recall earlier this month that we started seeing hints that Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered would be getting a separate release. The game was actually available back in November of last year, but the only way you could get it was by purchasing the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – something a lot of fans weren't pleased with.

However, we've seen yet another indication that Modern Warfare Remastered could be getting its own separate release. According to Reddit, an overseas game retailer called Game NatiX has listed the title for a release on June 23rd – the date that was hinted at previously.

Now, Activision still hasn't said anything regarding the release, so it's speculative at the moment, and certainly not official. However, keep something in mind – E3 is rapidly approaching next month, and the publisher could very well be revealing at that point (as a "surprise" to the Call of Duty community) that its release will be coming the following week.

Previous rumors that have popped up online regarding Call of Duty have come true in the past. For instance, Zombies Chronicles was hinted at by various sites in the weeks prior to its official announcement by Treyarch. In fact, we recently reviewed the Zombies pack and found it to be a great addition to an already stacked Call of Duty: Black Ops III package.

Also rumored for the longest time was a voiceover pack for Infinite Warfare featuring comedian and Community star Ken Jeong – and that ended up being confirmed today.

Considering that a lot of fans have enjoyed Modern Warfare in the past, a separate release just makes sense – and would certainly keep the Call of Duty brand going strong into the fall, when Call of Duty: WWII is set to release. We'll see what Activision announces in the weeks ahead, but, yeah, keep those fingers crossed, fans.

If you simply can't wait for Modern Warfare Remastered to get a separate release, you can buy it now in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition. And don't forget, there's always the previous versions for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, where the Modern Warfare series began…
