Even though the final piece of downloadable content for the game is set to deliver later this month, that doesn't mean the party is over for Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands. In fact, the developers took the time today to lay out a roadmap in terms of what's ahead for the game, including a new game mode that will push them to the next level.

Following the release of Fallen Ghosts later this month, there will be a handful of updates coming for the game, according to the blog post from the team. The highlight here is the new game mode in question, which will actually push up the difficulty to the game. In addition, it'll also enable players to move past the current level 30 limit, though it didn't indicate just how high you'll be able to go past that.

Those who take on the new mode – and survive – will reap plenty of in-game rewards as a result, although the team didn't specify just what you can expect. More than likely, we'll be getting our hands on some new gear and weaponry, just to make the cartel-bashing party that much sweeter.

The team is also hard at work on the PvP mode that a lot of fans have been looking forward to. It noted that more information will be announced over the course of the summer – possibly as soon as next month, when Ubisoft will present its usual pre-E3 showcase just a day before the show starts. Once introduced, the mode is set to bring 4v4 battles between players, instead of just pitting you against the usual cartel members.

So while the game won't be getting major updates like Fallen Ghosts or the previously released Narco Road, it will be receiving ample support over the next few months, and hopefully we'll see these new additions sooner rather than later. We could also hear about some new content at E3, so we'll let you know if anything gets introduced. Considering the game is still a fresh release, it'd be hard to see its support ending so soon.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
