Luke Cage Season 2 Will Explore Public Superhero Problems

Luke Cage had a roller coaster story arc between his introduction in Jessica Jones and spotlight role in his own solo series. He went from a convict on the run and hiding, to a mysterious vigilante of the streets, to "The Hero of Harlem" - only to end up in prison for his original crimes.
We already have seen footage of Luke being set free during the events of Marvel and Netflix's The Defenders team-up event, meaning the hero will finally be able to walk free, with his powers, in the open. Luke Cage star Mike Coulter was recently doing an interview with MCU Exchange, where he discussed how being a public hero will be both bad and good for Luke Cage:
"It's something that we'll explore in the Defenders and hopefully in Season 2 of Cage which I start very soon. It's very different. He's out. People know what he looks like. He's not in any kind of disguise. People know where he lives. They know where to find him so its something he has to deal with. Most superheroes don't have to deal with that and can kind of keep it separate."
One MCU hero already dealt with such issues: the gofather, Tony Stark/Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. famously closed out his first solo film as Stark by breaking all the rules and proclaiming himself to be Iron Man to a stunned crowd. The sequel film, Iron Man 2 tried to show how the fallout from that decision came to haunt Stark - but most fans agree... it didn't do the best job.
Luke Cage is also not in the same life situation as Tony Stark - at all. Tony could hide in a Malibu mansion from the outsiders clawing for his Iron Man tech and/or services; Luke lives amongst the people, in Harlem, in plain sight, and easy access. It helps having bullet-proof skin rather than requiring a suit of armor, sure, but it's still a different level of exposure.
...And with enemies like Black Mariah (and possibly a new and improved Diamondback) still out there, Luke will be truly exposed, indeed.
