Sony released a trailer today during their E3 conference for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a standalone expansion for one of PlayStation 4's exclusives, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

First revealed by Sony in 2016, the expansion for Naughty Dog's most recent Uncharted game in the series features the fan-favorite Chloe Frazier. This expansion will take place after the events of Uncharted 4 and will be set in India as Chloe seeks to recover an Indian artifact that's known as The Tusk of Ganesha, an adventure that the team behind the game has said will dig deep into the mythology and history of the region.

Chloe is expected to have a much more stealthy approach to her combat techniques as opposed to Nathan Drake in previous games. It was also revealed within the initial trailer that was released that Chloe would have to enlist the help of Nadine Ross as she searches for the mythical object. Those who played through Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will recall that Nadine was one of the antagonists from the game, but this time around, it looks like she'll be a help rather than a hindrance.

One character that's noticeably absent from this expansion is the protagonist of the Uncharted series, Nathan. If you're hoping to see the rugged adventurer make an appearance within Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, you might be sorely disappointed, as Naughty Dog made sure to let fans know when the expansion was initially announced that this new DLC would be it's own story and would not involve Nathan Drake. Being the immensely popular character that he is though, there may be some reference or cameo to Nathan occurring at least somewhere in the game.

Aside from not including Nathan in the game, the expansion looks to build off of the previous Uncharted games while also providing a bit of a different experience. Kurt Margenau, the Game Director for The Lost Legacy, mentioned that the the newDLC might be a bit bigger in terms of levels than previous games. He said that the game would follow the traditionally wide-level creation of previous games, but it would perhaps be a bit "more wide" this time around.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be available for $40 as opposed to the full $60 price tag for the PlayStation 4 on Aug. 22. Players who preorder will receive Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy after launch.
