Not to rub it in or anything, but I imagine a lot of Xbox-exclusive gamers are looking at Sony's Horizon Zero Dawn with jealous eyes. It's a great game in general, and the Xbox One is badly lacking in exclusive open-world adventures like Horizon. Well, the Xbox One will never get Horizon Zero Dawn, but looks like Microsoft may be planning to make their own version of the game.

Eagle-eyed fans recently took notice of the LinkedIn profile of Microsoft job recruiter Sandor Roberts. According to Roberts, Microsoft is looking for environment artists for a "triple-A nextgen title" that's "similar to Horizon Zero Dawn." Hmmm! Check out a screencap of the posting, below.

Horizon Zero Dawn has served as a great showcase for the PlayStation 4 Pro, so it would make sense that Microsoft would want something similar to demo the power of the Xbox One X. In fact, I expect we're going to be seeing a lot of games like Horizon Zero Dawn over the next few years.

According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, there are some big "new things" in development at Microsoft, but they're still rather far off:

"We are investing in new things, we've signed things just recently that I thought, 'Hey, from a PR standpoint it would be really easy for me to put a trailer on screen', even though I know the game is not coming for another two-and-half or three years, so I didn't want to do that."

Horizon Zero Dawn has been a major surprise success for Sony, accumulating stellar reviews, and selling like hotcakes. The company recently announced they're investing heavily in the IP, with years of content planned.

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds, the game's first expansion, casts a chill on PS4 later this year.
