Titan Comics and Harmony Gold have announced that the new ongoing Robotech comic series will debut at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con.
The event will also feature an exclusive variant cover by British Award-winning artist Rachael Stott (Image Comic's Sex Criminals, Doctor Who). Check out the cover in the attached gallery.
Produced by Harmony Gold USA in 1985, Robotech was one of the early gateway series of the anime boom in North America. The 85-episode series delved into humanity's struggle against a series of alien invasions, from the gigantic Zentraedi to the mysterious Invid, battling for control of the advanced alien technology that crash-landed on Earth. Against a backdrop that involved war, and romance, the powerful characterization and stunning action of the Veritech fighters that defend the Earth captured audiences and the series quickly became a cult smash.
Robotech #1 revisits classic characters like Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes, Lynn Minmei, Roy Fokker, Claudia Grant, and Henry Gloval.
Robotech is written by Brian Wood and features the art of Marco Turini and colorist Marco Lesko. The series tells a new story that aims to be accessible to new fans while presenting something new and engaging to longtime Robotech fans.
The special convention edition of Robotech #1, featuring the entirety of Robotech #1 and a brand-new cover and exclusive cover from Doctor Who comic book artist Rachael Stott, will be available to purchase at the Titan booth #5537 at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.
Robotech fans will also have the opportunity to meet Harmony Gold's Tommy Yune at Titan Booth #5537. Yune will be signing copies of his special Blue Line Veritech Sketch Variant on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 1 pm.
